The Builder Onboarding Process
MOMENTUM X builds new companies that accelerate the global adoption of clean technology. We believe and go all in on our builders abilities. We also have expansive services to support builders where they need it. Developers, coaches, fundraisers, HR, ect…whatever you need.
CEO/Builder’s coming to work with the studio can expect the following from the onboarding process.
Initial Job Application Screening
At Momentum X our goal is to engage builders as early on as possible in the process. We love research and ideation partners who can grow with us. The initial screening process for Momentum X builders is typical of any hiring process. Candidates apply via a form and the team evaluates over a variety of metrics to find the candidates that will be best suited for the role and to identify those candidates that may not be a great fit for the role.
For those of you who don’t pass the initial screening, you will receive a note from our team, and we hope that you will stay engaged. As a venture studio we complete these activities in a serial manner, and look forward to having you apply for other ventures, for which you may be a better fit.
The Ideation Meeting
Investing in early stage ventures is all about the team. During the next phase of our CEO selection process, potential CEO’s/Builders are invited to join an ideation meeting with our team. During this team, candidates will get a chance to present some of their ideas and visions, and more importantly we will all get a chance to have a collaborative discussion, which should give us all an idea of fit.
After a series of ideation meetings with incredible founders, we will make a decision to move forward with a single candidate.
The Building Phase
CEO/Builder’s spend two-three months with us developing the idea and iterating rapidly to de-risk the new business through deep customer and technical validation. The CEO/Builder will collaborate very closely with our in-house builders, investors, and our engineering team to structure a go-to-market strategy and product proof of concept.
During the building phase an initial investment of $50k is available to the CEO/Builder.
Pre-Seed Launch
If the Building phase is successful, we invest in the company up with a pre-seed investment of up to $200K.
Our investment community and in-house team will help evaluate any additional capital needs and assist with any additional fundraising that may be needed. Our recruiting team will help assemble your core team (including co-founder matchmaking if needed) and the building team will support you in getting early customer traction, building the product, and preparing for seed financing.

As a good co-founder, we will be working alongside you, supporting you as you grow.
